Seventy miles south of the Scottish border in northeast England sits Newcastle Upon Tyne. While only roughly a quarter million people inhabit it, it’s still the largest city in the North East of England and is considered the home of one of the most vibrant nightlife destinations in all of Europe. Some impressive music industry names have come out of that area: Sting, Eric Burdon, Mark Knopfler and Brian Johnson all either lived or grew up there, and currently among it’s residents is a young powerhouse of a drummer named Kyle Hughes who’s begun to make a name for himself outside the small city. At only age 20, he’s already toured all over the world and has garnered enough attention and praise to earn a full roster of endorsements and a non-stop schedule of recording and touring.
Aside from being a young buck, hot-shot, up-and-comer, he’s also something even more important and much more rare to find these days: a polite, well-spoken young gentleman and a friendly, affable and truly likeable guy who, according to his notable employers, is also a consummate professional. These qualities, combined with his obvious talent and growing recognition among A-list musicians, add up to a young man whose star is on the rise in the drumming world. Newcastle upon Tyne may have another name to add to that list in the near future…
