We drummers often practice diligently for days and weeks just so the few hours we are onstage for each performance go as well as possible. We work on timing, technique, rhythms, stickings, independent coordination and much more, sometimes including vocals, in order to be our best. But there is something else that many of us need to work on that often goes unnoticed, and can cause a great deal of trouble if left unattended. It is vital to our performance in both our personal and professional lives.
