New York City’s preparing for the now sold-out Metal Masters 4 Friday, September 7 at The Gramercy Theater. As always, fans can expect some surprise appearances and unforgettable performances. “We’re extremely excited to be bringing the Metal Masters series back home to the East Coast with our most diverse and talented lineup to date,” says Mark Menghi, Samson’s Director of Marketing. Charlie Benante adds, “We had such a great time [at the earlier Metal Masters shows]. This will be the fourth one, and I'm looking forward to jamming with my friends again and challenging myself musically.”
“It just started off very small and no one knew what the hell was going to happen,” adds Mark. “Here we are bigger than ever, and now it has a life of its own. The whole goal of it is to give kids a killer memory for a very cheap ticket, $20. With that, not only do you get a memorable experience, they’re going to walk out of the venue with stuff. Evans made us these really cool custom drumheads, full-color printing on it, all the guys’ pictures on them, with the names and the date.”
Attendees will also be able to pick up copies of Drumhead issue 33: Derek Roddy at the concert.
Metal Masters 4 will be comprised of drummers Charlie Benante (Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer), as well as Phil Anselmo (Pantera/Down), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Kerry King (Slayer), Frank Bello (Anthrax) and newly added masters Billy Sheehan and Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer).
