Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend have announced a new drummer, former Rise to Remain’s Pat Lundy.

Pat replaces drummer Ryan Richards after 10 years and makes his debut with the band at this weekend’s Slam Dunk Festival double header in Leeds and Hertford. He will also be working on the follow-up to their 2011 album ‘Welcome Home Armageddon’, due to be released later this year.

With experience of both live and studio work, Pat spent the past three years touring the world with Rise to Remain including a support slot with Iron Maiden.

After a recent visit to Premier’s headquarters in Leicestershire, Pat decided on a new Premier Series Elite kit for his forthcoming commitments with the band.

“I played the Elite kit and was blown away” says Pat. “I didn’t think a kick drum could sound as full and pack such a thud. The short stack toms are easy to tune and very responsive.”
