ROLLING STONES DRUMMER CHARLIE WATTS TO PLAY FOUR NIGHTS AT THE IRIDIUM, JUNE 29-JULY 2

EXCLUSIVE FACEBOOK FAN-ONLY PRE-SALE LAUNCHES TODAY AT:

The Rolling Stones may not be touring this year to celebrate their 50th Anniversary,
but The Iridium's got your Stones fix covered with two quintessential members: first
guitarist Mick Taylor plays a six night run May 9-14, and then drummer Charlie Watts
takes the stage for four nights June 29-July 2. The Iridium is launching an
exclusive Charlie Watts presale for fans on Facebook today, offering a promo code
for a limited number of VIP seats: http://www.facebook.com/iridiumjazzclub

Much like The Iridium, with its dual pedigree as both one of New York's premiere
jazz venues and as a "guitar shrine" (NYT) for rock and blues greats, Watts is
celebrated for his genre-hopping mastery. Dubbed the heartbeat of The Rolling
Stones, his jazz-influenced rhythms and skill playing behind the beat were essential
to the Stones' sound. Despite his staggering achievements with the band, though, his
heart has always lied with jazz. "Jazz is my passion. This is the music that I
really want to do. The Stones are merely an annoying pastime," he once joked.
Outside of the Stones, The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has released numerous solo
recordings celebrating his love affair with the genre, including multiple tributes
to Charlie Parker.

Watts will perform with his own band June 29-July 1, and he'll join The Les Paul
Trio in their weekly salute to their late bandleader July 2.

About The Iridium:
Deemed "hallowed ground" by legendary guitarist Steve Miller, The Iridium stage has
played a part in launching the careers of countless artists, though it may be known
best as The Home of Les Paul. Called "The Father of the Electric Guitar," Paul
performed at The Iridium weekly for more than 12 years until his passing in 2009.
Today, the Les Paul Trio continues on in his honor, showcasing the diversity of the
electric guitar every Monday night with world-class special guests that have
included Jeff Beck, Ted Nugent, Nels Cline, and Robert Randolph among others.
